Our knowledge organisers can be used at home to help reinforce the children's learning.

HOME LEARNING

Year 1 children will receive four set home learning activities a week. Each one feeds directly into basic skills that they have been developing in school.

1. Spellings (3 common exceptions words to learn each week)

2. Vocabulary (2 definitions to write of vocabulary they have been using)

3. Counting (a number sequence to practise out loud)

4. Reading (reading at least 3 times a week)

We all know it is very important that the children are reading at home as much as possible. The children are rewarded as 'Reading Champions' if they read at home at least 3 times each week.

Each Friday we will send a new sheet home in the children's home learning books. These books should be handed back in every Thursday ready for marking from school adults.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Our P.E days will be on Thursday and Friday. Please come to school in your P.E kit on these days.

OUTDOOR AREA

We are continuing to develop an outside area for the children to use for their learning in Year 1. If you would like to, please send into school some old trainers or wellies which the children can wear when outside. These will need to be in a named carrier bag so they can be left on the child's peg.

If you have any questions about our learning this term (or anything else) please come and see us.
