HOME LEARNING
Year 1 children will be set spellings and a topic based activity each week. The children are also expected to read at least three times a week using their colour band reading books.
Year 2 children will have a literacy and maths IXL task, spellings, and a topic based activity each week. The children are also expected to read at least three times a week using their colour band reading books.
We all know it is very important that the children are reading at home as much as possible. The children are rewarded as 'Reading Champions' if they read at home at least 3 times each week. The tasks for home learning will be available through TEAMs. Home learning can continue to be completed in their home learning books, but there will be a home learning assignment on TEAMs where you can upload photos or other learning if you prefer.
Each Friday we will also post a message on TEAMs about the week's learning. If you're able to continuing practising and reinforcing the knowledge and skills at home, it will really help consolidate these basic skills for your child.
OUTDOOR AREA
We are continuing to develop an outside area for the children to use for their learning in Year 1 and 2. If you would like to, please send into school some old trainers or wellies which the children can wear when outside. These will need to be in a named carrier bag so they can be left on the child's peg.
If you have any questions about our learning this term (or anything else) please come and see us.
