PE Vision Statement
Plaistow Hill believes that Physical Education plays an essential role in children's development. We aim to have a fun and challenging PE curriculum that engages all children. We will provide lessons focused on the fundamentals of movement (Agility, Balance and Coordination) allowing children to practise and master these key skills. PE will encourage children to challenge themselves, work as a team and build positive attitudes towards PE. Children will be given opportunities to experience many different sporting activities in lesson time and for extra-curricular clubs.
We want every Plaistow Hill child to:
-
Be competent and confident physically
- Be committed to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle
- Be proud of their achievements
- Have opportunities to represent the school at sporting events.
What is school sport funding?
The government has provided funding of £150 million per year for the last few academic years to provide new and substantial primary school sport funding. The funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary school headteachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.
